Here's our chorus with our dynamic director, Sally.

We are the Montgomery County, Maryland, chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Our chapter was chartered on May 20, 1960. After a short time, the chorus adopted the name "Montgomery Counts". We perform throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area for office parties, fraternal organizations, religious groups, fund-raisers and other types of celebrations where musical entertainment is desired.

In 1976, our home base, Rockville Maryland, was named an "All-American City," and we changed our chorus name to Hometowne USA. Our then director, Bill James, (1976 & 1977) led our chorus in our Annual Show and to competition with a new look. The chorus members dressed in "HOMETOWNE" style, some as firemen, some as policemen, some as bakers, some as baseball players, some barbers (of course), and an assortment of other "HOMETOWNE" professions. Two years later in 1978 a move was made to revert to our old name but the "HOMETOWNE" image had taken hold so well that the idea continued to be used into the time of our next director Al Butler.

A few years later we chose a new uniform, identical 'classic' getups, with vests and spats. We updated our look again in 2000 with a dash of new color, and we also abandonded our spats. 2002 saw another change when we jazzed up our vests with a bit of sparkle, reflecting our new upbeat attitude. Each year, we hold our Annual Show where we present our best to the community, to our other friends and to our families. Check our Annual Show page for updates on this year's show.

Over the years, we have established many quartets. Among our other current quartets are Precision Tuned, and The Presidents Men.
